As a part of Art Night Open, Mother Mercury was an exhibition curated by Emily Butler that celebrated the fleeting flows of energy resulting from new life, challenging stereotypical views of parenthood in the arts. It brought together four artists, two of whom were Swiss: Nicole Bachmann and Fabienne Hess, working with sound, image and sculpture, whose work tests the boundaries of language and power structures and whose practices have been radically shifted by raising children.
