The Sensemaker was presented in the context of the BE Festival in Birmingham, a platform that aims to present projects that ’think outside of the box’: interdisciplinary projects that cross art forms. A telephone, an answering machine, a chair, a suit and high heels: this was the setting for Elsa Couvreur’s contemporary piece presented at the festival. The 25-minute performance played with that moment that precedes a work interview, a situation that each of us has experienced. The Sensemaker mocked our fear of interviews and hilariously presented this well-known situation that characterizes our modern society. Elsa Couvreur is part of the contemporary dance company Woman’s Move, a collective of three Switzerland-based choreographers founded in 2012.
